Dragonknights: On The Verge
The Brollwood refers to both a place and a people; the Brollwood Forest is a great expanse of ancient oak and pine trees extending over Isilidia and Aldeon, and the Brollwood Elves refer to the woods’ sylvan inhabitants. The Elves of the Brollwood are considered residents of Aldean and Isildia due to the wide expanse of the Brollwood, and in turn stay mostly out of political affairs so long as their homeland is not threatened. The Brollwoods are considered to be a magical place, and many Elves believe their Saint Lomir retired to the heart of the woods, rather than ascend into a divine realm like the other Saints. Sages believe the woods serve as a conduit to the Fay Realms, and the trees themselves contain the ancient knowledge of the Elves. Brollwood Elves are neither reclusive nor unfriendly, but do keep the workings of the Brollwood a secret from their humanoid allies. Despite their seclusion, Brollwood Elves do remain connected to current events in Isildia, and are active participants in the commerce of the realm. The town of Halfmeet along the River Mabel is a trading post where highly desired products from the Brollwood ranging from treasured maple syrup, faewine to Elven crafts can be purchased and traded for. Halfmeet is a bit of a play on words, as the majority of the residents are half-elves, the city is halfway between Scalar and Whittle’s Bluff, and the churches of the town are divided in two between Moulin and Lomir. While Brollwood Elves prefer the seclusion of the woods, both businesses and pleasure drive them to travel with some frequency, making Elves a common sight in nearby towns and cities.
